Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time (term-time only considered), Permanent
Salary: £37,500 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and confident Social Value and Communications Officer to help deliver meaningful social value outcomes across our public sector contracts while managing engaging internal and external communications.
This is a varied, people-facing role, ideal for someone with a background in education, social value, community engagement or communications, who enjoys presenting to groups and building strong relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver and support social value initiatives linked to public sector contracts
• Engage with schools, colleges, community groups and external partners
• Support internal and external communications, including newsletters, case studies and social media content
• Organise and host site and facility tours
• Present confidently to groups, including students, employees and external visitors
• Support tender submissions and contract reporting relating to social value
• Champion social value and positive impact across the organisation
About You
You will be:
• Comfortable presenting to groups of people and representing the organisation externally
• Highly organised, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Passionate about social impact, education, or community engagement
• Confident working independently as well as part of a team
Essential Requirements
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (travel required for work purposes)
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check
• Office-based role, with flexibility to travel to external sites and schools
Desirable (But Not Essential)
• Background in education, social value, communications or community engagement
• Knowledge or experience of the waste and recycling sector
• Experience producing communications materials (e.g. newsletters, social media, promotional content)
